Mid-, late-stage deals lift funding activity

Funding momentum improved a tad in the second week of April, thanks to a bunch of mid- and late-stage deals struck by private equity and venture capital investors such as WestBridge Capital, ICICI Venture and Bessemer Venture Partners.

The total value of PE and VC deals increased to about $310 million last week across 29 deals from the preceding week's $281 million across 31 transactions, according to data collated by VCCircle.

In the largest transaction announced in the five-day period, Bengaluru-based fintech firm Juspay secured about ₹515 crore ($60 million) in a round led by Kedaara Capital alongside existing investors SoftBank and Accel that also joined the Series D round.
