Talks followed Trump's move to impose additional 25% tariff on Indian goods over Russian oil import by New Delhi
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin on Friday agreed to deepen bilateral ties between their countries, even as China welcomed the Indian PM's likely visit to the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting later this month.
The leaders of India and Russia agreed to strengthen ties during a telephone conversation, the Prime Minister's office said in a statement. Separately, a Chinese government spokesperson expressed hope that the SCO meeting in Tianjin would be a "gathering of solidarity, friendship and fruitful results".
