Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders Has Plans To Acquire A Controlling Stake In The Sri Lankan Asset For Up To $52.96 Million
The Mazagon Dock Shipbuilders (MDL), India's public sector shipyard, announced a "proposed acquisition" of a controlling stake in Sri Lanka's largest established shipyard, Colombo Dockyard PLC valued at around $52.96 million, it said in a statement on Friday.
This is MDL's first international venture and is a major milestone in its transformation from a domestic shipbuilder into a regional maritime player with global aspirations, it added.
