Eternal Doubles Its Headcount in FY25 on Expansion Drive

Eternal earmarked ₹2,137 cr for dark stores and related operations, but used only ₹181 cr by 31 March 2025
Eternal Ltd, formerly known as Zomato, more than doubled its workforce in fiscal year 2025 (FY25) as the company expanded its quick-commerce business Blinkit and the going-out vertical District.
Most of the hiring has gone into Blinkit and District—capital-and labour-intensive verticals requiring last-mile delivery staff, dark store operators and local sales teams, as per Eternal's FY25 annual report.
Doubling a workforce in a single year is rare even in high-growth sectors and reflects hyper-scaling from new funding, expansion bets, or pre-initial public offering (IPO) momentum, said Vivek Mehta, partner at ABC Consultants.
