Terrorism is Pakistan's war strategy, not proxy conflict: PM

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday described terrorism as a calculated war strategy adopted by Pakistan, dismissing the notion of it being a proxy conflict. Speaking at an urban development programme in Gujarat, Modi asserted that India's response would be shaped by the nature of the aggression.

"This is not a proxy war," he stated. "Those killed after May 6 were honoured by the Pakistani state. Their coffins were draped in Pakistani flags, and the military gave them a salute. This clearly shows that these are acts of war, not merely operations by non-state actors."

The prime minister, on his first visit to Gujarat following Operation Sindoor, visited Vadodara, Dahod, Bhuj, Ahmedabad, and Gandhinagar. He said the patriotic spirit generated by the operation was resonating across the country.
