Health secy submitted false affidavit in HC without my knowledge: Min

Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has leveled serious allegations against the Health Secretary and the Standing Counsel of the ‘Services’ Department, accusing them of conspiring to mislead the Delhi High Court regarding infrastructure and medication shortages in government-run hospitals.

In a press conference on Tuesday, Bharadwaj claimed that a false affidavit was submitted to the Delhi High Court without his knowledge or approval. “Despite being the Health Minister of Delhi, neither was that affidavit shown to me nor was it approved by me,” Bharadwaj stated. He criticised the affidavit for hiding significant issues, including a severe shortage of doctors, specialists, paramedics, and essential medicines in Delhi hospitals.

Bharadwaj explained that a petition concerning Delhi’s health services has been under review since 2017. The High Court had earlier mandated that all hospitals should be equipped with ICU beds and other necessary facilities.
