NEW DELHI: The elections to the posts of chairpersons and vice-chairpersons of ad-hoc and statutory committees of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) witnessed drama on Thursday, with the voting postponed following chaos and repeated disruptions by AAP councillors.
The elections, scheduled on Thursday from 11 am to 4 pm, were marred by protests and altercations, officials said.
The House had to be adjourned twice due to disruptions, with AAP councillors allegedly snatching ballot papers, attempting to break the ballot box, and clashing with security personnel.
