October 29, 2025
|Manila Bulletin
Tarlac City Mayor Susan Yap said Tuesday that she will appeal the Commission on Elections (Comelec) ruling disqualifying her from her post.
In astatement, Yap said that her mandate came directly from the people, and appealed to public and election officials to uphold the will of the voters.
She said she was ready to present documents and evidence to refute an accusation that “borders on the ridiculous.”
Groups of Tarlaquefios have organized pocket rallies and vigils across multiple locations in the city to express support for Yap.
The League of Municipalities-Tarlac Chapter backed the mayor’s pursuit of legal remedies.
