Siargao airport expansion launched

The Siargao Airport expansion, launched on Friday, Aug. 8, marks a key step in transforming the island into a world-class gateway, the Department of Tourism (DOT) said.
Tourism growth, according to DOT Secretary Christina Garcia-Frasco, requires not only natural attractions but also strong foundations such as upgraded facilities, reliable connectivity, and quality services to reach its full potential.
She said the DOT will soon open a Tourist Rest Area and the island's first Tourist First Aid Facility, complementing the airport expansion and the cruise port terminal to enhance the safety, comfort, and overall experience of travelers.
