Repower begins Mindanao hydro

Listed renewable energy firm Repower Energy Development Corp. (REDC) is expanding its footprint in Mindanao, commencing construction on its recently acquired hydropower project along the Pulangi River.
In a disclosure to the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) on Tuesday, Dec. 9, REDC announced the groundbreaking of its 25-megawatt (MW) Pulangi IV hydropower facility.
The move comes just a week after the company acquired a 95 percent equity stake in the project from developer Maramag Hydropower Corp. (MHC).
Valued at P6.3 billion, the run-of-river project is set to harness the downstream section of the Pulangi River, near REDC’s other facility in the region, the 18.2-MW Pulangi hydro project.
