Nordic noir returns to Manila with new titles

The Royal Norwegian Embassy in Manila once again brought the chilling allure of Nordic noir to Philippine readers at the 2025 Manila International Book Fair, held at the SMX Convention Center, Mall of Asia Complex, from Sept. 10 to 14, 2025.

Building on the momentum of last year’s visit by bestselling author Jørn Lier Horst, the embassy continues its campaign to spotlight Nordic noir in the Philippines. This year's featured guest is Norwegian American author Alex Dahl, a rising star in global crime fiction.

Based in both London and Sandefjord, Norway, Dahl introduced six of her acclaimed titles to Manila: After She'd Gone, Cabin Fever, Girl Friends, Boy at the Door, Heart Keeper and Playdate. Notably, Playdate was recently adapted into the British original series The Stolen Girl, now streaming exclusively on Disney+.
