Marcos holds bilateral talks with 6 world leaders

President Marcos kicked off his participation at the 47th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits by holding bilateral meetings with leaders of Cambodia, Thailand, Canada, Japan, United Nations, and European Council on the sidelines of the summit on Sunday, Oct. 26.

Marcos Jr. has signed Executive Order No. 101, mandating the nationwide enforcement of the Sagip Saka Act (Republic Act No. 11321), a law designed to boost the productivity and livelihood of Filipino farmers and fisherfolk. The order requires all national government agencies, government-owned and -controlled corporations, and state universities and colleges to align their programs and initiatives with the goals of the Sagip Saka program, ensuring stronger support for the country's agricultural and fisheries sectors.

As expected, Marcos met with his counterparts on the sidelines of the ASEAN Summit, reaffirming the Philippines’ intention to work with its partners in multiple areas of coordination.
