Karylle steps up

For years, singer-actress Karylle has been portraying historical characters in period plays.
It kept her wondering why she wouldn’t attract similar roles in either TV or film projects.
A surprise call from TBA considering her for the part of former First Lady Aurora Quezon in a film-bio on her husband, President Manuel Luis Quezon, was to be the turning point in Karylle’s career.
“It was a wondering that turned into a wish. And then, the offer to do Aurora came at a time when I was busy with many other things. I am just thankful to TBA Studios for waiting for me and for things to fall into their proper places.”
She quickly jumped at the opportunity, knowing the artistic value of the project, especially since TBA is known for having produced quality historical films as Heneral Luna and Goyo. It helped a lot that Quezon was to be played by an actor she admires, Jericho Rosales.
