Security, safety measures remain in place - PNP
Tight security and public safety operations remained in place in the National Capital Region (NCR) and other parts of the country as millions of people who went to the provinces for religious activity and vacation during the long Holy Week break, started to troop back to Metro Manila on Sunday, April 20.
The Philippine National Police (PNP) had earlier mobilized over 68,000 policemen for the Holy Week security and the deployment is now focused on major transportation hubs, thoroughfares, churches and other places of convergence.
In Metro Manila, National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) director Maj. Gen. Anthony A. Aberin said he already instructed his men to remain on alert in anticipation of the wave of returning travelers.
