Former president Rodrigo Duterte welcomed the New Year quietly, spending the holiday sleeping, eating, and watching television, his daughter Veronica “Kitty” Duterte said.
In an interview with vlogger Alvin & Tourism in the Netherlands, Kitty said her father marked the New Year in his usual routine, describing him as a man of habit.
“Walang bago sa kanya (Nothing new with him),” she said in the video uploaded to Facebook late Friday, Jan. 2.
“Sinabi niya, ‘Wala. Tulog, kain, TV.’ Yun yung kasiyahan niya (He said, ‘Nothing. Sleep, eat, TV.’ That’s what makes him happy),” she added, recalling the former president’s message.
