EU's top diplomat on 1st visit to PH

European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice President of the European Commission (HRVP) Kaja Kallas will be in the Philippines from June 1 to 2 to discuss ways “to further strengthen” the relationship between the Philippines and the regional bloc.

In a statement, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said on Saturday, May 31, that this will be Kallas' first visit to Manila since her appointment in December 2024.
"The visit marks a significant milestone in the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and the European Union, highlighting the shared commitment to open political dialogue and enhanced cooperation in pursuit of peace, stability, and sustainable development," the statement read.
