Davao Oriental placed under state of calamity

The province of Davao Oriental has been placed under a state of calamity as it continued to reel from the effects of the recent twin earthquakes and the continuing aftershocks being felt in the region.
CONTINUING ASSISTANCE – Personnel of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) Southeastern Mindanao District load sacks of rice and other relief goods into a truck that will be headed to earthquake-stricken areas in Davao Oriental on Tuesday, Oct. 14. It was the third batch of relief aid that the PCG Southern Mindanao District transported to help victims of the strong earthquake that hit last Oct. 10.

The Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved Resolution No. 18-152-10-2025 following the recommendation of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (PDRRMC) on Monday, Oct. 13.
The declaration enables the provincial government to utilize emergency funds and implement urgent interventions to support affected communities.
