Contribution hike boosts SSS profit

Assets of the Social Security System (SSS) climbed to a new high of over P1.2 trillion as of end-September, ensuring that the state-run pension fund for private-sector workers has more than enough resources to meet its future obligations.
The SSS’ latest condensed statement of financial position, seen by Manila Bulletin, showed that as of Sept. 30, 2025, its current assets stood at 311.39 billion, while non-current assets reached P890.29 billion.
As such, the SSS’ assets at the end of the first nine months of 2025 rose further from P1.15 trillion at end-June and P1.03 trillion at end-2024.
