CONCEPCION CALLS FOR MORE MSME FUNDING AS LANDBANK UNVEILS NEW LENDING PRODUCT

Go Negosyo founder Joey Concepcion urged banks and other financial institutions to take a cue from Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) and expand access to capital for the country's MSMEs.

Speaking at the launch of LANDBANK’s LIFTING MSMEs Lending Program, the chair of the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ASEAN-BAC) 2026

“Banks are so careful in lending to MSMEs, but that has to change. We have to take more risks because the bulk of poverty is at the bottom of the pyramid,” said Concepcion, as he emphasized the need for mentorship among the country’s MSMEs.

“It is challenging for a microentrepreneur [to convince banks to lend], but when they have mentors, they can create a business plan that will assure lenders that they can pay back the loan.”
