Choose service over self-interest – Marcos

Resident Marcos is starting the year by calling on Filipinos to choose doing the things that would help the society grow such as opting for service rather than self-interest, empathy over indifference, and hope over despair.

“A society thrives when its people choose empathy over indifference, service over self-interest, and hope over despair," Marcos, who will celebrate the new year in Malacañan Palace, said in his message.

He stressed that the new year calls on the people to "examine how we live with one another, how we lift one another, and how our choices shape our nation." The coming of another year, Marcos said, is a "moment of reflection and renewal," providing an opportunity to look back on the lessons, challenges, and achievements in 2025.

It also gives an opportunity to "look ahead with hope and purpose to the possibilities that await us," Marcos further said.
