IN THE age of food influencers and viral marketing campaigns, the Pull Up Bar Cafe has managed to build a glowing reputation through word of mouth.

Found among a litany of bars and eateries on Swan Street in the city centre, it distinguishes itself with its emanating bright red neon sign that serves as an invitation more than a marker that you've reached your destination.

The woman behind the Caribbean diner is Sharon Waldron.

A physical embodiment of warmth, she's known affectionately as 'Aunty Sharon'.

Hugging almost everyone that walks through the doors, never shirking away from a selfie and engaging in long conversation, Pull Up is made in her image.

With 25 years of experience in the food industry, she runs the family business set up by her restaurateur son, Eze Saunders, in 2019.
