MUM THOUGHT DAUGHTER HAD HANGOVER BUT IT TURNED OUT TO BE FATAL BLOOD CLOT

- By SEAN MCPOLIN & ANDREW BARDSLEY

THE mother of a 'beautiful' teenage girl who died after believing she had a hangover says she hopes to save lives in her daughter's memory.

Áine Rose Hurst, 19, from Bolton, had been for a night out with friends and thought she had a 'typical teenage' hangover. But, unknown to her, she was actually suffering from a deadly blood clot on her brain.

Her mother Kerry is speaking out in a bid to help other people and save lives.

When Aine woke up in early March with a severe headache, she assumed it was just the aftereffects of a night out. But when the pain didn't ease, she went to her mum for help.

Kerry gave her paracetamol, an eye mask, and told her to try to sleep, never imagining the outcome would be fatal.

But the pain rapidly worsened and Kerry was forced to call 111. During the call, Áine suddenly became unresponsive and was rushed to hospital by ambulance.
