Grooming gang rapist subjected to 'substantial' attacks in prison

A RAPIST due to face justice over the grooming and historic sexual abuse of a vulnerable girl in Rochdale has twice been attacked since being remanded in prison.

Mushtaq Ahmed, 66, has been the victim of two 'substantial assaults' and has lost his front teeth. He is frightened and anticipates that his time in prison will be 'difficult', Manchester Minshull Street Crown Court heard.
Ahmed is one of seven men expected to be sentenced today for their part in the repeated and sustained grooming and rape of two girls in the town. The girls, who were teenagers at the time in the mid 2000s, were groomed and sexually abused for years.
