WALKER CRITICS, DOKU ISSUE, AND BRILLIANCE OF SILVA
OSCAR Bobb scored an injury-time winner to secure all three points for City at Newcastle in another vital Premier League win for Pep Guardiola's side.
In a thrilling and frenetic game at St James' Park, Bernardo Silva gave City the lead with a sublimely taken goal in the first half, only for three minutes of madness to turn the contest on its head.
Twice City were caught out by balls over the top, with Alexander Isak and then Anthony Gordon exploiting the space in behind, but both got the better of Kyle Walker too easily to cut inside and finish in style.
The Blues dominated the second half, however, and finally drew level when Kevin De Bruyne scored his first goal of the season, just four minutes after coming off the bench for his first Premier League appearance since the opening weekend of the season. De Bruyne then provided the assist for Bobb's winner.
CITY FANS MAKE THEIR POINT
By the end it was the Manchester City fans you could hear from the top tier of the Leazes Stand at St James' Park. "That's why we're champions", they belted out at the end of a wild night on Tyneside.
At times, City's defence of that crown looked to be creaking again at Newcastle. But two goals in the final 20 minutes turned a thrilling game around.
The celebrations that greeted Oscar Bobb's winner spoke volumes for how big this win was.
It was slightly reminiscent of City's last away game, that comeback win at Goodison Park just after Christmas. That second-half turnaround was more routine, but just like this, it showed the character of champions and a team desperate to make history with a fourth successive title.
