Attempts to divide us through violence or hatred will fail, say Muslim leaders

MUSLIM leaders say they will stand in solidarity with Manchester Jewish communities.

The Manchester Council of Mosques says any attempt to 'divide us through violence or hatred will fail'.

While Chief Imam Allama Qamaruzzaman Azmi, of the Anwaarul Haramain Jam'e Masjid, says Muslims remain committed to nurturing a bond with their Jewish neighbours 'in the face of any attempt to sow division'.

"There is no room for violence or hate in Manchester - only unity, peace and respect for one another," he said.

The Manchester Council of Mosques represents more than 50 mosques across the city, with a combined congregation of over 80,000 people.
