A YEAR has passed since Marcus Rashford rocked the footballing world by announcing he was ready to leave United.

It was unthinkable at the time that the forward, having come through United's academy to become his boyhood club's talisman, would ever leave Old Trafford, let alone do it in such acrimonious circumstances.

The past 12 months have been a whirlwind for the 28-year-old, who was frozen out of the United team by Ruben Amorim, had a mixed loan spell at Aston Villa and is now thriving in Spain for Barcelona.

The England international made headlines for the wrong reasons 12 months ago when he was left out of the United side that beat City for his poor application in training.

Amorim publicly calling out the forward appeared to be the final straw for Rashford as he finally took a drastic step to end his United nightmare - by conducting a bombshell interview with journalist Henry Winter to declare his readiness for a 'new challenge'.
