Tributes to 'jolly' pub landlord Glynn

TRIBUTES have been paid to a former Macclesfield greengrocer following his death.

'Legendary landlord’ Glynn Jones passed away from heart failure aged 83 last month.

Glynn moved to Leek from Macclesfield in 1986 to run The Black Swan - known affectionately by regulars as the Mucky Duck.

He remained the pub's landlord for nine years before leaving to start his own taxi company, A2B, in 1995.

Hundreds of well-wishers paid their respects to Glynn at a funeral in St Edward’s Church, in Leek, on Friday.

Mourners then remembered Glynn's life at a wake fittingly held in The Black Swan.
