Thirds extend lead at the top despite defeat

MACC Thirds won the toss and elected to field in their match against Irby, a game they hoped to win to try and stretch away from second placed Runcorn at the top of Division A.
Mudasser Panchbhaya took an early wicket thanks to a catch by keeper Mitch Moores.
Irby’s top and middle order struggled as they lost wickets before partnerships could build thanks to Miles Horner taking two wickets (one lbw and one caught and bowled) as well as a run out by Ian Kenny.
Opener De Silva was still in however and he finally found a partner in Davidson and they pushed Irby up to a competitive score. Da Silva was eventually dismissed for 66 caught by Mitch Moores off the bowling of Chris Moores and Davidson went for 42 thanks to a stumping by Mitch Moores off Horner.
