THE Third team visited Woodford and skipper Mudasser Panchbhaya won a useful toss on a day designed for bowling rather than batting.
The skipper himself made the early inroads for Macc as he dismissed Beckett and Furber for ducks to leave Woodford on a perilous 8-2, the wickets falling to catches for Chris Moores and Andy Moores.
When Ewan Allabush bowled Smith, the score was 29-3 and Macc were firmly on top.
A stand of 44 between Hussain and Joe Clinch started to shift the balance in the game and although Hussain was bowled by Miles Horner to make it 70-4, new man Alex Clinch scored well and Woodford reached 122-4 seemingly in a good position to push on to a very competitive total.
Two quick wickets for Tony Moores broke Woodford's momentum as Prem Chandar Anandan caught Alex Clinch and then Abdullah was trapped lbw first ball.
