Thousands protest outside BBC's HQ

Demonstrators chanted and held aloft Palestinian flags yesterday. Speeches were made before protesters marched through the Salford Quays complex. Speakers from the Manchester Palestine Solidarity Campaign led proceedings outside the BBC's Quayside House.

The Gaza Strip has been besieged and bombarded by Israel since October 7. Palestinian officials say more than 4,000 people have died in Gaza since then, with charities and aid organisations declaring 'humanitarian crisis! Yesterday morning, the first humanitarian aid convoy crossed into the Gaza Strip from Egypt.

Protests have been held across the UK, with the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) saying it expected 200,000 people to join what it claimed would be the biggest march for Palestinian rights in British history.
