Pub reopens after legal row
January 19, 2025
|MEN on Sunday
LAST week the lights at one of Manchester's most well-known pubs went out and the doors were locked.
Fortunately, the closure was only temporary, but it signalled major change was on the horizon.
The pub's previous licensees Mark West and Allan Hudd have now handed over the running of the legendary boozer back to landlord Star Pubs - a subsidiary of brewing giant Heineken, following a long legal battle over the venue's future. Though the building is owned by Star Pubs, up until last week it had been run by Allan and his team for several years and was known for its impressive range of craft beers and extensive whiskey collection.
