'The right moment to seek a new challenge'

DOMINIC Calvert-Lewin has announced he will leave Everton.

The striker, whose contract was due to expire this week, confirmed his future will be away from the club in an emotional post shared on social media.

In it, the 28-year-old thanked the club's supporters and the managers he had worked with at Goodison Park while explaining he believed now was the right time to move on.

It was a decision, he wrote, that had been made with his family.

Calvert-Lewin's departure will bring to an end nine years at the club, a period in which he became one of the Blues' leading Premier League goalscorers.

Highlights include the form he experienced under Carlo Ancelotti and the goals that fired him into the senior England squad.

His diving header against Crystal Palace secured the club's survival from relegation three years ago, sparking memorable scenes at Goodison.
