No QUICK fix - but Slot needed break to solve issues ahead of Reds' United clash

HESKEY CALLS ON STARS TO STEP UP - BUT INSISTS FORMER CLUB WON'T RUE DIAZ SALE
EMILE Heskey admits there is no quick fix to Liverpool's problems. But the former Anfield favourite says the international break came at an ideal time for Arne Slot to properly analyse the issues.
The Premier League champions lost three in a row before the break, tasting defeat in away games to Crystal Palace and Chelsea either side of a 1-0 reverse to Galatasaray in the Champions League.
Liverpool return to action when they entertain historic rivals Manchester United on October 19. And speaking to Tribal Football, via Pundit Arena, Heskey, thinks the break arrives at a good time.
The two-week pause in play affords Reeds boss Slot the opportunity to dissect with his backroom team exactly what is going wrong ahead of that visit from Ruben Amorim’s side next week.
“I don’t think you can boil [Liverpool's issues] down to just one reason,” said Heskey, who scored 22 times as the Reds won the UEFA Cup, League Cup and FA Cup in the 2000/01 season.
“I think this international break has probably come at a good time for Liverpool.
“Although there will be a lot of players away, the coaching staff will be working on certain things defensively.
“They'll be watching the tapes back and can really start analys-ing those performances in depth to say: ‘What do we need to do now going forward?”
“The relentlessness of the Premier League is unforgiving, and it's not just against the top teams, it's against everyone.
