Cheshire and Merseyside residents have been urged to think first before contacting emergency services this winter and instead allow the NHS to 'Help Us Help You' to get the care you need.

Accident and Emergency (A&E) departments and hospitals are traditionally under the most strain during the colder winter months, but an annual campaign run by Mersey Care NHS Foundation Trust, one of the largest mental and community health trusts in the country, has helped encourage local communities to use other resources and eased the pressure on critical services.
