Allotment talks break down with decision likely to be settled in court

THE future of an allotment site looks set to be decided in Lincoln County Court after attempts to settle a long-running dispute failed.

The management company behind the allotments in Nocton Park has shared an update regarding the ongoing legal proceedings, saying attempts at mediation have not been successful.

Legal proceedings were initially launched by Nocton Park Management Company in 2024 over a failed payment by Nocton Park resident, Paul Reeve-Browne.

The Nocton Park estate is made up of a range of ex-RAF properties and new builds, but there are also spaces of land that residents help maintain by paying a fee of around £160 annually.

Mr Reeve-Browne issued four counter-claims against the management company, including the request to terminate the lease between the company and the Nocton Park Allotment Association.

Formal mediation was due to take place but both parties failed to do this by August 2, 2024.
