KICK-START TO NEW SEASON

Dumbarton boss Stevie Farrell admits the caffeine has been flowing as part of the Sons' rapid-fire rebuild as they prepare for their competitive opener at the Rock this evening.
-
It has been a busy six weeks after the club finally got a deal with Canadian businessman Mario Lapointe's takeover of the club over the line, leading to a splurge of new faces being confirmed as the transfer embargo was finally lifted.
The latest of those — midfielder Scott Honeyman and forward Leighton McIntosh — were confirmed last week, with Farrell also confident of bringing in one more player to finish off his squad ahead of the Premier Sports Cup match with Stirling Albion this evening.
Farrell believes it's an “exciting” time on and off the pitch for the Sons, but recognises the need for fans to have patience as a glut of new players attempt to gel and build chemistry.
The Dumbarton boss said: “We've had a different journey with the close season this year with the new owner and everything going on off the pitch, the hype and excitement that has come from that.
