Sellers at car boots must meet trade rules

CAR boot sellers have been warned they could be breaking the law.

Trading Standards officers said anyone who buys goods specifically to resell or makes items to sell is considered a trader, regardless of how infrequently they attend events.

"Most people who sell at boot sales probably don't consider themselves to be in trade, even if they sell at boot sales several times a year," a Leicestershire Trading Standards spokesman said.
