NUMBER OF ARRESTS AND CHARGES BROUGHT AFTER FOUR BUSTS IN EIGHT DAYS

CANNABIS plants worth more than £1 million have been seized in and around Leicester over the past fortnight.

Police have made a number of arrests after a series of raids, including at a warehouse in Birstall and properties in Humberstone and Spinney Hills.

Police officers said they found 1,102 plants in an industrial warehouse in Thurcaston Road, Birstall, on November 11.

The cannabis plants were said to have a street value of £771,400.

Officers said three men were arrested and charged with offences relating to the production of a controlled drug of class B - cannabis.
