Officer sent 'completely unacceptable' sexualised messages to his colleague

A POLICE officer sent “unwanted” and “completely unacceptable” sexualised messages to a female colleague.

One of the messages was even sent while the pair were investigating a sexual offence complaint against a vulnerable victim.

A misconduct hearing found the male officer, who has not been named by Leicestershire Police for “welfare reasons”, likely sent the sexualised message while the two were in the victim's home at the time.

The messages came after the officer had already apologised to his colleague for putting male sexual performance tablets in her coat pocket - something the panel ruled was a “sexualised joke”.

Panel members branded the officer's actions “degrading”, saying the woman was younger than him and a “relative newcomer” to the force.
