BLUEPRINT WILL GOVERN DEVELOPMENT IN BOROUGH FOR A DECADE

THE planning blueprint that will guide development in a borough until 2037 has been adopted.

Charnwood Borough Council's local plan, adopted on Monday, sets out land for more than 21,000 homes.

They include 4,500 for Thurmaston, 3,200 set for land west of Loughborough and 1,950 north of Birstall.

Councillor Birgitta Worrall, lead member for planning, said: "The local plan provides a clear framework for future development in Charnwood.
