Keeping on tractoring to spread festive joy

CHRISTMAS EVENT HAS BECOME FIRM FAVOURITE IN DISTRICT

A MAN who organises a charity tractor run every Christmas in memory of his brother says the event never ceases to fill him with joy.

Liam Hopkins, 25, has carried out the runs since 2021 to raise awareness of mental health following the death of his brother, Kieran.

This year's Hopkins Brothers Charity Tractor Run will take place on Saturday, December 20 and will see a parade of decorated tractors go through Hinckley, Earl Shilton, Barwell, Higham, Stoke Golding, Dadlington, Market Bosworth, Newbold Verdon and Desford.

Liam said his love of tractors, which he shared with Kieran, came from their happy childhood days spent on the grandad’s farm.

He said: “Me and Kieran, we've always been mad about tractors - like a magpie when it sees something shiny, that is like tractors for us. We just loved spending time in them.”
