D-Day looms for unauthorised town development

CONTROVERSIAL and unauthorised building work on a traveller site next to a county park is set to be refused by planning officials after hundreds of complaints by residents.

The retrospective proposals, applied for by a Mr McDonagh, follows work over the August bank holiday weekend which saw the erection of gates and laying of hardcore to make room for one static caravan and two touring caravans near Bouskell Park, Blaby.

An original application was submitted to Blaby District Council just one day before the bank holiday weekend.
