FORMER Love Island winner Amber Davies, who is to be the star of a Curve blockbuster early next year, has been parachuted into hit BBC show Strictly.

- By STAFF REPORTER

Davies, 28, will take the place of Dani Dyer-Bowen, who had to pull out in the first week of the show after she fractured her ankle in a fall during rehearsals.

It will make for a busy few months for Davies, with the Strictly development following hot on the heels of her being announced as the star of Legally Blonde The Musical, which is on at Curve theatre in February.

Davies won the reality TV show Love Island in 2017 and has since appeared on stage in musicals.

The show, based on the 2001 Reese Witherspoon film, starts at the theatre in early February before heading off on tour.

Davies said earlier this week that she was “thrilled” to be playing the role - and then followed it up with the call-up to Strictly, which is watched by millions on prime time BBC1 on Saturday evenings.

Davies, who will be partnered with Nikita Kuzmin, said: “This has been the craziest 24 hours of my life.
