WATCHDOG HIGHLIGHTS RESPONSE TO RESIDENT WHO TWICE INJURED THEMSELVES
RESIDENTS of a Leicester care home are at risk of avoidable harm, a watchdog has found.
After an inspection of Holmwood Gardens, off Groby Road, the Care Quality Commission (CQC) has downgraded its safety rating from "requires improvement" to the lowest grade of "inadequate".
It said the service was "in breach of legal regulation in relation to people's safe care and treatment and safe and effective staffing".
Inspectors also raised concerns about poor staff practice and medication management.
The service was given a rating of "requires improvement" overall.
A spokesman for the home said it was "determined not only to meet but to exceed the standards set by the CQC".
