Successful boss failed to impress in PNE interview

Preston CEO Peter Ridsdale revealed that a future successful manager ruined his opportunity to take the reins at Deepdale following the sacking of Phil Brown.
After the exit of former Hull City boss Brown in December 2011, the Lilywhites gave the job to Graham Westley-who had impressed at Stevenage.
Ridsdale was at the forefront of that decision, having joined PNE as chairman not long before Brown's dismissal.
Westley lasted 13 months in the post at Deepdale.
