Read sorry to see return of the Mack to Australia after a 'fantastic' stint
June 04, 2025
|Lancashire Evening Post
Head coach Chris Read has hailed the contribution of Katie Mack as the prolific Australian batter prepares to end her second season as a Lancashire overseas player with a farewell appearance today against Hampshire Hawks at Emirates Old Trafford (2.30pm).
She is returning home after a successful first half of the summer which has seen her total 351 runs in 10 matches across 50-over and T20 cricket, including a trio of half-centuries.
Mack's replacement for the next couple of months will be fellow Aussie Alana King, the international leg-spinning all-rounder who will debut in the Vitality Blast this weekend.
Before then, Mack faces the Hawks on home turf aiming to continue her impressive form.
Lancashire are aiming to win their second game in three, having beaten Durham most recently at The Riverside on Sunday.
This is the first part of a double header day with Lancashire's men, who face Leicestershire Foxes in the Blast from 6.30pm.
"Katie's been fantastic, not just this summer but last as well," said Read.
