Man charged after probation officer stabbed

A man has been charged after female probation officer was stabbed at her office in Preston.
Police were called at 2.30pm on Tuesday to reports of an assault at The Pavilions close to Preston Docks.
The attack happened at Diadem House, which houses Preston Probation Office and is also the Probation Service HQ for the North West.
Officers who attended found a woman in her 30s had suffered stab injures. She was taken to hospital where she last night remained in a stable condition.
