Deepdale is defender Vukcevic's safe haven
October 22, 2025
|Lancashire Evening Post
Preston is like a paradise for left-back Andrija Vukcevic especially in comparison to his last place of work.
It's been a positive few weeks at club level for the Montenegrin, who has started - and impressed - in the last three league games for North End following his arrival in the summer.
His lifestyle in the North West of England is a far cry from his time playing for Mexican outfit Juarez where he moved to in the summer of 2023 for a reported €1m.
Ciudad Juárez is one of the most dangerous cities in the world and it was certainly a challenging time for the defender.
"I lived in the most dangerous city in the world," said Vukcevic. "It was training and home. Juarez, on the border with the United States. I think, in 2009, that was the most dangerous city in the world. There were people killing each other every day.
