Firms that don't align staff with their strategy will fail, says top executive

In these volatile and uncertain times when the world is constantly changing, those organisations that don't align their employees with their strategy and change will fail, a top industry executive said on Wednesday.

"One of the fundamental truths that we constantly forget within an organisation is that it doesn't matter how much money we have, how good our technology systems are, and how definitive our strategies are, without our people, our organisations will fail. It's something we fundamentally forget all the time," said Dominic Keogh-Peters, group chief human resources officer of Galadari Brothers.

Dominic was speaking during an opening keynote at the Future Workforce Summit organised by Khaleej Times in Dubai.

"We live in a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous world that is constantly changing around us. This world is more connected than it has ever been. Change is more like a tsunami. Now when change happens, it inevitably makes its way into our organisations. And if our organisations cannot change alongside that, we will fail. We need our people to be aligned to make sure we can change," he said during the packed summit on Wednesday.
