Kashmir Is Peaceful, Welcoming: Dr Farooq Urges Tourists

In a heartfelt appeal to both domestic and international tourists, National Conference President and former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Dr Farooq Abdullah on Tuesday urged people to shed all fears and visit the Kashmir Valley, which he described as “as peaceful as any other place in the world.”

Speaking to reporters in the picturesque town of Pahalgam, Dr Abdullah acknowledged the impact of a recent terror incident but maintained that peace and normalcy are steadily returning to the region.

“Yes, an unfortunate incident took place recently, and it shook us all. But that should not overshadow the prevailing environment of peace. Tourists were arriving in large numbers, hotels were full, and people were earning a dignified livelihood—not just depending on government jobs,” he said.
